Would you be ok not inspecting it if the used car salesman, or the current owner that you have never met before, told you that it works perfectly and has no issues? If you said no, then why would you buy a used home which costs much more than a used car without inspecting it.
The foundation of a home is perhaps the most critical piece of what makes it structurally sound. It has to be in good shape for the rest of the house – the frame, walls, roof – to retain its structural integrity.
Unfortunately, water damage, geological issues, and even shoddy craftsmanship can lead to foundation problems. While structural problems are easily overlooked when walking through a home, repairing structural problem can be very expensive.
Small issues not addressed can lead to injury and death. Often times minor changes can improve the safety of your home.
